Ridgeline Metal (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the ridgelinemetal.com website (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect when you use the Site and how we use it.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

When you send a message or quote request through our contact form, we collect what you enter: your name, email address, and message, plus your phone number and project type if you include them. The form emails your request to our sales team at sales@ridgelinemetal.com so they can reply, and emails you a confirmation at the address you entered. Both emails are sent through our email provider, Resend. The Site does not save your request in its database. It only adds one to a daily count of messages sent, by project type and by the product page you started from. That count does not include your name, contact details, or message. Your request and our replies stay in our email so we can follow up on your project.

Information collected automatically

Analytics are off unless you allow them. If you allow them, these services run on our home page, About, Team, and Gallery pages, How it's made, Updates, and panel, polycarbonate, and trim pages:

  • Ridgeline's own visit counter records which of these pages were viewed and, for the first page of a visit, the website that sent you there, such as google.com. It keeps these as daily totals in our database for 13 months. It sets no cookies and stores no IP address. To limit abuse, it briefly keeps a one-way code made from your IP address, not the address itself, and deletes it within two days. While your browser tab is open, it keeps a note there of the pages it has already counted, so each page counts once per visit.
  • Vercel Web Analytics counts page views without cookies. Before a page view is sent, we remove the part of the page address after a question mark (?) or hash (#).
  • Vercel Speed Insights measures how quickly each page loads and responds, along with your device type and browser, without cookies. We shorten the page address the same way.
  • Microsoft Clarity may record how you use the page, such as clicks, scrolling, and mouse movement, along with your device and browser details and the pages you visit. Clarity uses its own cookies to recognize repeat visits. We allow Clarity analytics cookies only, not advertising cookies.

Analytics never run on the contact, colors, legal, or staff pages, so nothing you type into the contact form is recorded. Form fields are also masked from Clarity as an extra safeguard. If you do not allow analytics, none of these services load and the visit counter sends nothing.

Whatever your analytics choice, the Site counts how many spec sheets are downloaded and how many contact messages are sent each day, with the product and project type involved. These are totals only, kept for 13 months. To avoid counting the same download twice in a day, the Site briefly keeps a one-way code made from your IP address, not the address itself, and deletes it within two days.

Our hosting and security systems also process basic request details, such as your IP address and browser type, to deliver the Site and prevent abuse. To slow down spam, the Site counts repeated form submissions and sign-in attempts. It stores those counts under one-way codes made from your email and IP address, not the addresses themselves, and deletes them in a daily cleanup once they are a day old.

The contact page shows a map of our Redmond location embedded from Google Maps. It loads automatically as you approach that part of the page, whatever your analytics choice. When it loads, your browser connects to Google, which receives your IP address, browser and device details, and the address of the page, and may set or read its own cookies. Google handles that information under its privacy policy (opens in a new tab).

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to your inquiries and quote requests.
  • Provide information about our products and services.
  • Improve the functionality and content of our Site.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.

The Site does not send marketing email, and sending the contact form does not add you to a mailing list.

3. Cookies

Our public pages do not set cookies of their own. Your analytics choice is saved in your browser so the Site remembers it, and it is not sent to us. Declining analytics does not affect the contact form, product information, or any other part of the Site. If you turn analytics off after allowing them, the Site stops sending page views to Vercel, tells Clarity to stop, and deletes the cookies Clarity set on this site. If you turn analytics off, the visit counter's note in your tab is cleared. Google may set its own cookies when the contact page map loads. You can change your choice below at any time.

4. Third-party services

We use these service providers to run the Site. Each handles information under its own privacy and security terms.

  • Vercel hosts the Site and, if you allow analytics, counts page views.
  • Convex runs the Site's database, including the spam counts and daily totals described above.
  • Resend sends the contact form emails to our sales team and to you.
  • Microsoft Clarity provides session analytics, only if you allow analytics.
  • Google provides the map on our contact page.
  • WorkOS handles sign-in for Ridgeline staff. Visitors do not have accounts on the Site.

The updates on our home page and Updates page are copies of posts from our Facebook Page. Their text and photos are served from this Site, so viewing them does not connect your browser to Facebook. Links to a post or to our Page open Facebook, where Facebook's privacy policy applies.

5. Data security

We take reasonable precautions to protect information submitted through our Site. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Links to other sites

Our Site may contain links to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies.

7. Children’s privacy

Our Site is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “last updated” date. Continued use of the Site after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.

9. Contact us

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, or want to know what information we have from you or ask us to delete it, please contact us.
